The blending of at least 5% bioethanol into every volume of gasoline sold was formally launched last February 6, 2009. All oil companies have started the blend rate at 10% or “E10”, as it is more popularly known. However, motorists attest and oil companies agree that the Filipinos are still in the dark as to whether or not their vehicles are compatible with E10.
BiofulsHub sets the record straight, once and for all. We went straight to and have coordinated with various car manufacturers and dealers to determine which car models are compatible with E10.
Here is the updated table for car models compatible with E10:

Based on Table 1, Honda, Nissan, and Toyota appear to have an advantage in the automobile market because almost all of their car models are compatible with E10.
As for Suzuki and Mitsubishi, they are still in the process of testing the performance of their vehicles when using E10 fuel since E10 was only launched in the Philippines this year. As per Mitsubishi’s technical team, their test vehicles have now run a total of 20,000 kilometers on E10 and so far, there are no issues or problems. Test results have already been completed but these are not official and published yet since further inspection are still being conducted.
In the past week, Chevrolet and Hyundai have released print advertisements in the major dailies stating that their vehicles can use E10 and advocating the use of ethanol-blended gasoline.
